Eternally gamine film star Audrey Hepburn married American actor Mel Ferrer in September of 1954. Although Hollywood gossips said the marriage wouldn't last, the couple stayed together until 1967, and had a son. Hepburn later remarried, to Italian doctor Andrea Dotti, and had a second child.
Like everything else about Hepburn's look and style, her wedding gown is simultaneously very specific to its era and entirely timeless. The tiny waist, wide sleeves, and full skirt are classic Audrey.
